Trex pays the labor to replace a defective Trex product installed by a TrexPro Platinum contractor (Signature, Transcend, Select and Refuge):
- 12 years: Trex decking, Trex railing and Trex fasteners installed together.
- 10 years: Trex decking and Trex railing installed together.
- 5 years: Trex decking alone or Trex railing alone.
- Enhance: 4, 3 or 2 years on the same three tiers.

Our workmanship warranty is separate from Trex's product labor program and governed by your signed project agreement:
- Structural framing & footings: Built to the code your township enforces, with permits and inspections.
- Ledger board attachment: Flashing, structural fasteners and lateral load connections.
- Stairs & railing: Level, plumb and evenly spaced.
Itemized in your written agreement.

On Trex projects, Trex pays the labor to replace a defective Trex product when we install it and register the warranty for you. For Signature, Transcend, Select and Refuge products that is 5 years for Trex decking or railing alone, 10 years for both, and 12 years when all three are Trex, fasteners included; for Enhance products it is 2, 3 or 4 years. When decking and railing are both installed, the decking line sets the term. Railing must be Trex Signature, Signature X-Series, Transcend, Select or Enhance. This is Trex’s coverage for product defects, separate from our 1-year labor warranty on workmanship. Residential projects only.

Trex Decking FAQs
How much does a Trex deck cost to install?
Our installed planning bands are $43–70/sq ft for Trex Enhance, $43–70/sq ft for Trex Select, $65–90/sq ft for Trex Transcend, $65–90/sq ft for Trex Signature. For a 12×16 (192 sq ft) deck, estimates run $10,463–$12,789 in Trex Enhance and $12,036–$14,710 in Trex Transcend. Illustrative new-build estimates: rectangular deck, ground-level structure, three exposed railing sides, no stairs or optional extras, and the calculator’s permit allowance. Wood uses wood railing; composite uses composite railing. Demolition, unusual access, site preparation and tax treatment require a written quote.
What is a TrexPro Platinum installer?
TrexPro Platinum is the highest of Trex's 3 contractor tiers (TrexPro, TrexPro Gold and TrexPro Platinum). It carries Trex's longest labor terms. On Trex projects, Trex pays the labor to replace a defective Trex product when we install it and register the warranty for you. For Signature, Transcend, Select and Refuge products that is 5 years for Trex decking or railing alone, 10 years for both, and 12 years when all three are Trex, fasteners included; for Enhance products it is 2, 3 or 4 years. How long does Trex decking last?
Trex backs each line with a limited residential warranty whose fade & stain term matches the product term: Enhance 25 years, Select 35 years, and Transcend, Transcend Lineage and Signature 50 years. Composite boards won't rot like wood and never need staining; how long the deck lasts also depends on the framing underneath and how it is cleaned.
Is Trex worth the extra cost over wood?
Trex usually has a higher initial cost than pressure-treated wood and avoids regular staining. Compare the installed quote, cleaning requirements and manufacturer warranty for the exact product line. The long-term cost depends on your deck and how it is maintained.
Does Trex decking get hot in the sun?
Yes. All decking gets hot in direct sun, and darker colors feel hotter. SunComfortable colours reduce heat build-up by up to 35°F compared with Trex's original boards; they include Cinnamon Cove, Honey Grove, Golden Hour, Tide Pool, Pebble Beach, and Transcend Lineage uses the same technology. For a south-facing deck, compare a light board and a dark one in your own sun before you choose.
Can I see Trex samples before deciding?
Yes. Trex offers color samples of its decking lines through its online shop (trex.com/shop), shipped to your home, so you can compare boards in your own backyard light before you choose. Tell us which lines you are weighing when you book, and we will price each one in your quote.
